I was a little prejudice against Nathaniel Howe when I first met him in Awakening cause, well, his dad was just such an asshole. But my characters do not kill potential companions, even Cousland was not going to execute the son of the man who killed her parents. Nathaniel was in the Free Marches during the events of Origins. It becomes clear as the Warden progresses through Awakening that Nathaniel really did not know what kind of man his father was. In many ways, as I played as Cousland, I felt like Nathaniel and I were kindred spirits. We were both fighting for the memory of our families. He and Anders quickly became regular companions. I also really enjoyed his cameo in DA2. I’m not sure if he will really have a large role in the future games, but I hope so!

Side Note: I am only doing these for NPCs - Not the Warden, Hawke, or Shepard. Sorry! I love them, but just wanted to give some of the spotlight to the NPCs.
Taking a break from the promiscuous duo that is Isabela and Zevran, to devote a day to everyone’s favorite kitty knight, Ser Pounce-a-lot. This kitty truly is a “noble beast” - using the words of Anders. Fearless, cute, and able to remain in small spaces, such a satchels, for long periods of time, Ser Pounce-a-lot is not to be taken lightly.
SPOILERS! DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT FINISHED DRAGON AGE II. I think it could be argued that if the wardens had not taken Ser Pounce-a-lot away from Anders, the events at the end of the game might not have happened ;) This is what happens when you separate a mage from their cat. Be warned, Templars… SPOILERS END HERE.
